San Mateo Firefighters Rescue Man Trapped Upside Down in Donation Bin

In a strange incident in San Mateo, California, a man found himself stuck upside down inside a donation bin, with only his shoes visible through the small opening.

The San Mateo Police Department discovered the man trapped in what appeared to be a clothing or recycling donation bin and called the San Mateo Fire Department for assistance.

Firefighters used hydraulic spreaders, commonly known as the “Jaws of Life,” to safely extract the man.

Fortunately, he was not seriously injured. The fire department reminded the public that donation bins are intended for clothes and recyclables, not people.

In a similar incident in Lomita, California, a man became stuck upside down inside a Red Cross donation box after attempting to retrieve his cellphone.

Firefighters had to cut open the box to free him, and he was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
