COVID-19 UPDATE: Edgewood to have online classes until April 6, residence halls closed

By Ari Ebert-Standard

Edgewood College will be suspending face-to-face courses from March 23 until April 6 due to growing concerns over COVID-19.

Interim President Sister Mary Ellen Gevelinger announced in an email on Wednesday, March 11 that campus residence halls “are not accessible during spring break unless otherwise arranged in advance.”

Students must be out of their dorms or on-campus apartments by 6 p.m. on Friday. The residence halls will open again on April 5 at the earliest.

If students have questions or concerns about housing during this time, they are urged to contact the Dean of Students office.

This move comes following an earlier email on Wednesday, stating that Edgewood campus officials were aware of UW-Madison’s decision to clear out residence halls and shut down their own face-to-face classes March 23-April 10.

Edgewood students, faculty and staff should check their emails regularly for updates.
