GALESBURG, IL — A 67-year-old man has been arrested following an armed robbery at Flavor Freeze, located at 552 S. Farnham Street, on the night of Thursday, May 15, 2025, according to the Galesburg Police Department.
Police say Grayling Churn fled the scene with a bank bag full of cash after robbing the business around 9:21 p.m. Officers quickly identified the suspect’s vehicle and attempted to initiate a traffic stop. When Churn refused to pull over, a police pursuit began, lasting several blocks.
The chase ended in the 200 block of Linneus Avenue, where Churn exited his vehicle and ran. Officers caught up with him shortly afterward and detained him following a brief foot chase.
Churn was taken into custody and faces multiple charges, including:
- Aggravated Robbery
- Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding
- Aggravated Battery to a Police Officer
- Several traffic violations
Authorities say Churn is also being investigated in connection with other recent robberies and incidents in the Galesburg area. He remains in custody at the Knox County Jail.
The Knox County Sheriff’s Department assisted the Galesburg Police in the arrest.
