Fun Fall Festivities

Fall has arrived! Here is a list of some seasonal activities to check out, both on- and off- campus.  

Family Weekend  

The weekend of Oct. 18 is Family Weekend at Edgewood College, when students’ families are welcomed to campus to enjoy on- and off-campus events. “Toy Story 4” will be screening on Oct. 18 at 6:30 p.m. in Anderson Auditorium. On Oct. 19, there will be a brunch, Fall Fest and Family Game Night. Sunday, they will have the Eucharist and the Monroe Street Farmers Market. For more events and information, as well as to register, head to www.edgewood.edu/eagle-families.  

Marshall Haunted House

Every Halloween, Edgewood College students can go to the Marshall Haunted House held in Marshall Hall. This year, the theme for the event is Marshall Movie Massacre Haunted House, where horror movie characters will be the protagonists of the night.  

Simultaneously, for people who aren’t fans of being scared, there’s the Monster Mash in Dominican Hall where students gather to hang out and eat snacks.  

These events will take place Oct. 24 from 7-10:45 p.m.

Freakfest  

The Freakfest Music Festival is the region’s largest Halloween music festival, this year taking place on Oct. 26. The event consists of three stages settled on Gilman Street, Capitol Square and Frances Street. Eplegaarden in Fitchburg 

This garden in Fitchburg offers apple, pumpkin and even raspberry picking. Eplegaarden is open from 9 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday, and on Sundays 10 a.m.-5 p.m.  

Schuster’s Farm 

Located in Deerfield, Wisc., Shuster’s Farm is the place for all things fall. Take advantage of their hayrides, pumpkin patch, corn maze, desserts, Haunted Forest and more! Their fall season is from Sept. 21-Nov. 2.  

They are open every day of the week from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. and on weekends from 10 a.m.-6:00 p.m. For more information about passes and tickets, check out: https://schustersfarm.com/ 

Wisconsin Scaryland  

Wisconsin Scaryland is a professional haunted house in Waunakee, Wisc. The theme of this year’s haunted house is a psychiatric hospital with a patient who opened a door to the underworld. For information on tickets and times, refer to https://www.wisconsinscaryland.com/.
