BY ALYSSA ALLEMAND
Greetings, Edgewood College community!
My name is Alyssa Allemand, and as of this fall 2018 semester, I am the editor of On The Edge News. Though this position is new for me and I am still learning the ropes, I have an incredible amount of dedication and enthusiasm!
We make this campus, and we can know the truth about it. I want all members of our community to know that On The Edge is a resource that will act as a voice for the students, faculty, and staff. I have a vision to make our campus newspaper a place for students to express their concerns, needs, and praises relating to Edgewood College and the surrounding Madison area. It will be a program that holds our institution accountable in its dedication to our values of compassion, truth, justice, community, and partnership. We as students, along with our organizations, need to ensure that members of the Edgewood community at every level strive to make campus a safe place for all.
To encourage a strong relationship between the community and On The Edge, I have placed a box on the table outside of the office (Predolin 310) in which people may jot down things they would like our staff to address, whether it be a frustration, a praise, or an exciting event to cover. Please stop by anytime if you see me in there.
Any and all feedback is absolutely welcome. I am strongly hoping that our newspaper is something the student body, faculty, and staff look forward to reading, and something worthy of everyone’s support.
Again, I am elated to take on this position and play a role in influencing the environment of Edgewood and the city of Madison. Watch for postings on our website: otenews.com.
