Master’s in Art Therapy program “indefinitely postponed”

By Alese Steinhardt

Edgewood College was supposed to begin running a master’s in Art Therapy program this Fall 2019 semester, but there were not enough acceptable applicants to fill the cohort, according to Kellie Murphy, interim director of the program.

“We had hoped to fill the cohort for summer 2020, but recently learned that the state of Wisconsin modified their licensure requirements,” Murphy said. Because of this, “significant changes” must be made to the current program, which is now “indefinitely postponed” under the direction of Margaret Noreuil, dean of the Henry Predolin School of Nursing, and Dean Pribbenow.

The college website says, “At Edgewood College, the Masters in Art Therapy Program places students in a cohort, or group atmosphere. This advantage affords you the opportunity to pursue Art Therapist Registered credentials through the Art Therapy Credential Board in a collegial, supportive, and creative environment.”
