OKTIBBEHA COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Around 6:30 p.m. on May 17, a car traveling west toward Starkville veered off the road at the Hickory Grove Road exit, crashing through metal barriers and landing upside down.
When crews arrived at the scene, paramedics were treating a woman about 25 yards from where the vehicle had come to rest.
A medical helicopter was called in, and she was airlifted to the hospital. Her current condition has not been released.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol, Oktibbeha County Fire Department, and the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the accident.
Authorities have not confirmed whether anyone else was inside the vehicle at the time of the crash. More updates will be provided as information becomes available.
