Edgewood College’s Diane Ballweg Theatre will open “She Kills Monsters” on Friday. Show dates are February 24-25 at 7:30 p.m., March 2-3 at 7:30 p.m., and March 4 at 2:00 p.m.

The play tells the story of a woman named Agnes (Edgewood Senior Elle Romanin) suffering the loss of her kid sister Tilly (Edgewood Freshman Kiley Rodriguez). To reconnect better with her sister, Agnes dives into Tilly’s world of Dungeons and Dragons. Agnes fights monsters and, as Stage Manager Joe Bondurant says, “…asks the question, if you were given a second chance to say what you had always wanted to, would you?”

Tickets for the show can be purchased online. Prices begin at $18 for general admissions and $10 for students. In addition, the theatre gives an opportunity to those who help usher to get a free ticket. For information on ushering, contact Audrey Standish at astandish@edgewood.edu.

To make the show happen Bondurant, Susan Nanning, Director of “She Kills Monsters,” and the theater crews have worked tirelessly with actors from Edgewood College and the community since the beginning of the semester, meeting up to five times a week.

Nanning says she, “enjoys watching the script come alive onstage and helping all of the actors realize their fullest potential as their characters.”
