Stories of Holocaust survivors at Stream April 16-25

Edgewood College and Edgewood High School present “Moving stories of Chicagoland survivors of the Holocaust and other genocides told through their personal belongings” April 16 to April 25 at the Edgewood College Stream Building Atrium on campus.

A reception for the event on April 18 from at 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. is open to the public with light snacks available, musical performances by Edgewood High School students and artwork demonstrations.

 Guest speakers are:

  • Melanie Herzog, PhD, Professor Emerita, Edgewood College, Noon to 1 pm, April 16 in Stream 210.
  • Peter Makela, Artist in Residence, Edgewood College, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 am, April 18 in Stream 202.
  • Robert Skloot, PhD, Professor Emeritus, UW-Madison, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., April 18 in Anderson Auditorium.
  • Teryl Dobbs, PhD, Professor Emerita, UW-Madison, 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 pm, April 18 Stream 210.
  • Josh Tuininga, author, artist, and graphic designer, Noon to 1 pm, April 23 (virtual) in Stream 210.

The project of “Stories of Survival: Object. Image. Memory” was created by the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center and photographer Jim Lommasson.

 The Mark Schonwette Holocaust Education Foundation partly funded this exhibit with a grant.
