Police are searching for a man who punched a subway conductor in an unprovoked assault at Manhattan’s busy 42 Street–Grand Central Station.
The attack happened around 7:45 p.m. Thursday. A 55-year-old conductor was looking out of the window on a stopped northbound 5 train when a man approached and suddenly punched him in the face.
The suspect immediately fled the scene.
Emergency responders transported the victim to NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.
The suspect is described as a man with a medium complexion, between 35 and 39 years old, approximately 6’2″ tall, with a medium build and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, gray hoodie, and blue jeans.
