Deputies Seek Help Identifying Suspects Involved in Shooting at “The Cage” Court
HOUSTON — Authorities are calling on the public to help identify several teens who opened fire after a fight broke out at a Cypress basketball court earlier this month. Although the gunfire damaged nearby homes and cars, no injuries were reported.
The incident occurred on May 12 on Rustic Lake Lane in the Cypress Springs neighborhood. According to Harris County Constable Precinct 5, deputies responded after receiving calls from residents reporting gunshots.
Surveillance footage from “The Cage,” a local basketball court located at Longenbaugh Road and Greenhouse Road, captured the events leading up to the shooting. The video shows two teens getting into a physical altercation before one of them left the scene to retrieve a handgun.
Moments later, gunfire erupted. One of the young men involved in the fight returned with a weapon and began shooting at the other, who was also armed, Precinct 5 reported.
The bullets hit a nearby home and several parked vehicles, but luckily, no one was hurt.
Constable Terry Allbritton confirmed that his office is actively investigating the incident and working to identify the individuals responsible. Investigators released parts of the surveillance footage, hoping it will lead someone to come forward with information.
If you recognize any of the individuals involved or have details that could help the investigation, please contact Detective James Curtis at [email protected] or submit a tip via the constable’s online crime tips page at https://constablepct5.com/online-crime-tips/.
