GALVESTON, Texas — A 23-month-old girl has died after being pulled from her family’s backyard pool in Galveston on Thursday evening.
According to police, the incident occurred around 6 p.m. at a home on Colony Park Circle, near the intersection of 69th Street and Seawall Boulevard.
The toddler was discovered unresponsive in the pool by her caretaker, who immediately began life-saving efforts while waiting for emergency responders to arrive.
She was transported to a nearby hospital, but authorities later confirmed she did not survive.
Investigators believe the drowning was accidental, though the investigation remains ongoing as they continue to gather evidence. Officials stated that additional information will be released at a later time.
