Women’s basketball team wins NACC tournament

The Edgewood College women’s basketball team made school history this 2019-20 season, winning the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACCtournament in their game against Benedictine University on March 1It was the first time the Eagles made it to the NACC Tournament since their 2014-15 season. 

Their historic season came to an end in the National Collegiate Athletic Association tournament after a good fight against UW-Oshkosh with a score of 40-61. 

 In its regular season, the team had a 23-2 record, which set a new program mark for wins.  

Some of the players gained All-Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference honors. Sisters Bria Lemirande and Alyssa Lemirande earned First Team honors.  

Emma Klein was named NACC Freshman of the Year and Abby Shane received honorable mention.  

The head coach of the Eagles, Chaia Huff, was named D3hoops.com Central Region Coach of the Year.  

“I am very honored and feel extremely lucky to coach such hard-working players who made this season wonderful in every way,” Huff saidOur journey together has been special, and I can’t wait to continue making history with them.
