Edgewood College offers InTuition Grant starting fall 2019

By Nikole Jaramillo

Edgewood College has announced the new inTuition Grant, a program designed to help make college more affordable for students, beginning Fall 2019.

“The inTuition Grant is just one way that we provide educational access to students from all socioeconomic levels,” said Director of Strategic Communications Ed Taylor. This new initiative allows students to know their maximum first year tuition cost up front,” Taylor said.

Here’s how it works: students apply for the upcoming Fall semester with a minimum 3.5 GPA and 24 ACT score (if these requirements aren’t met, potential students can use the calculator provided on the program’s link to find other aid they do qualify for), complete an application for financial aid by the Dec. 1 deadline, and confirm enrollment at Edgewood College by May 1 of 2019.

Students eligible for the grant are guaranteed admission to Edgewood College, their desired major, and a lowered first-year tuition cost from $30,600 to $11,400.

“Often prospective students are scared off by ‘sticker prices’ when in reality, very few students pay full tuition,” Taylor commented. “In fact, 99% of full-time freshmen receive some type of scholarship or grant.”

The inTuition Grant is available only to incoming full-time students in the Fall 2019 semester. For current students, Taylor said, “our longstanding philosophy is that we guarantee the same level of institutional funding including academic merit scholarships for students as long as they maintain continuous full-time enrollment.”

Taylor also said that many of Edgewood’s students may be eligible to apply for some WAICU (Wisconsin Association of Independent Colleges and Universities) scholarships, which range from $1,000-$12,000 per year. Eligible students receive an invite via email to apply for these scholarships.

For students who are not eligible and are looking for further assistance, Edgewood’s outside scholarship page at www.edgewood.edu/outsidescholarships is worth a look. Edgewood also has a staff of counselors available to help find additional aid.
